Extracts from Oliver’s Diary –

27th March –
Even though the government schools are still on strike, the private schools attended. So this morning we visited Queen of Peace Academy school. I began our meeting with an open prayer and Rev Kenneth Abeku preached from Esther 1:1-4, 15-17. His theme was MIND YOUR CHARACTER. He said we can rise in life by our charisma, skills, talents, abilities and gifts, but will fall by our character. On Sunday I preached on, WHY CHRIST CAME TO EARTH? I gave four reasons which was a blessing to the church. On Friday evening we will meet and my message is WHY CHRIST HAD TO DIE?. Coming Sunday is our culture day. We will wear our native clothes and bring our native food. I will be preaching on KINGDOM CULTURE AND END WITH, HE IS RISEN. Please pray for the Lord’s blessings on the meeting.

On Wednesday Comfort and Oliver visited Nana Brempong JHS and Cobbah Yalley JHS. Comfort had the opportunity to visit two schools within one hour Ten minutes. She started with Cobbah Yalley Form one to Three and ended up with Nana Brempong JHS Form one and Two. The main speaker for Nana Brempong One and Two didn’t turn up. Oliver took the Nana Brempong JHS Form Three.
Because we are close to Easter our messages were centred on, WHY CHRIST HAD TO DIE? The gospel. The children and teachers were very attentive to the message, and it’s our prayers that the Lord will watch over His Word to perform salvation in the hearts of many.

Most of the government schools are still doing their football and athletics games. Some schools will start next week, while others have finished theirs. Today our new volunteer Miss Lamisi went to speak at Modernansah JHS . Her message was from Ecclesiastic12:1, that it is good to remember and obey God in our youth and this will set the tone for their entire life. I went to Korsah Complex JHS and my message was on the prodigal son. Even though the school were having their game, about 30 students were present.
Pray with us for more faithful volunteers into the Lord’s harvest field in the schools. Pray also for successful school games. Pray that there will be no injuries or accidents.

In Ghana the whole of this month is a Ghanaian cultural month. On the last Sunday of March, we have invited the Northern communities in the area. My message is on the culture of the kingdom of Heaven. Pray for wisdom and guidance.

Esther apparently when mad about a month ago. She wasn’t taking her medication the doctor initially gave her when we took her to the hospital. The family again took her to the hospital to see a psychiatrist. Through her medication and prayers she is now well, but sleepy. She still hasn’t done the operation yet, but I am praying she will be well to have it.
I am planning well the school’s outreach program. Most of the volunteers are students, and their classes time coincide with our school outreach. I am also seeking permission from Ghana Education Service for this year, which is not a problem. I am back to the land of freedom and sunshine ☀ from 🥶🥶🥶. Thank you 🙏 for your financial support and prayers. The Lord richly bless you.

19th January
On Wednesday Comfort my wife visited Tanokrom JHS. She preached on, Planning Your Life God Way. She used Genesis1 on how God didn’t create the world in one day., which He could if He wanted to. But had a plan to create one after the other, in an orderly fashion. She told them, in the same way every school has a timetable for the various subjects. All the subjects are not done in one go, but a subject after the other. So they should plan their day and their lives with the Lord. She want on to expand it in more details. She spoke in Twi Ghanaian language. The Lord has given us a new volunteer called Derrick. He visited Nana Brempong JHS, his message was on, Seeking God and His Kingdom. I believe the Lord blessed his word to their hearts.
I will leave Canada on the 6th of February and arrive in Ghana on the 7th of February God willing. The sun ☀ in Canada is too hot, the weather can be too hot as at Negative 26 🥶🥶🥶🥶😂 today. I am 95% of time in the house, it’s too cold 🥶. I promised them never will I step in this country in the winter ever again!
