Church Membership

All enquiries about church membership should normally be made to the pastor either personally or at scunnah@gmail.com

At present there are four steps towards church membership after the applicant has read and given assent to the church’s statement of faith and understood the privileges and responsibilities of church membership.

1. Interview by pastor and one of the elders to ascertain that the applicant has a credible profession of faith and understands what church membership involves. (At the moment we are doing this using Zoom)

2. The person applying for membership gives a short testimony at one of the church’s midweek meetings. This could be in person on a Thursday evening or on a Monday evening using Zoom.

3. An announcement is made at a communion service that the person in question has applied for church membership. If an existing member has any questions or queries, they are invited to speak with the pastor or one of the elders.

4. The person is welcomed as a new member at the next communion service.
