Extracts from Oliver’s Diary
15th July 2026 –
We had our leaders meeting on Sunday, we were 13 in number. The main problem I realized in the church was respect for leadership, and the full function of the various ministries leaders. We have Children, Youth, Women, Men’s, Music, Usher and Accounts ministries. Each has a leader and assistant. I asked the youth Pastor, Mr. Sylvester to take us through the Structure of the Church. The church structure starts with Jesus Christ as the Head of the Church, and ends with the church members. He explained clearly each area and we deliberated on the area for all to understand. From next week Sylvester and Francis will take each ministry every week and teach to all the leaders. I will first go through their notes before the talks.
At the moment I am in Effiduasi Ashanti , I came on Monday. I came for the installation of my brother Prof. Nicholas as the new Chief of Effiduasi. But his inauguration, will come on another day.
Standing in front of us, is the youth pastor Sylvester, explaining to us the church structure. The woman you see are the leaders of the women ministry and the children.
9th July 2026 –
Last Sunday I preached from Romans12:2 and Phil2:13. Using an illustration of the Farmer, who has to, Prepare the soil, plant the seed and Remove the weeds from destroying the plants.But God sends the rain and sunshine, gives life to the seeds and makes them grow. My message was that in our Christian life, we have our responsibility to play and God has His responsibility to play. God will not do what we are responsible for and we cannot do what God is responsible for. But we still need’s God’s grace.
After the service we held leaders meeting, since I have been away for about a month. I asked them three things. First any Progress in the church, secondly any Problems they encountered, thirdly is their any Prayer points we can pray. We were unable to finish the meeting, which will continue coming Sunday God willing.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- Peaceful meeting since there were some misunderstanding among them. But the Lord gave me wisdom to settle the misunderstanding. It was like Paul and Barnabas. But no separation.
4th July 2026 –
Oliver and Comfort visited Ntankoful JHS. The last time I was at this school, I talked to the Form 2A class. So on Wednesday, I went to the 2B class and Comfort went to the 2A class. My message was still from Matthew21:28-31. And Comfort’s message was from Psalm 1:1-6. There were many teachers in both classes, and I believe they were all blessed by the message.
Esther visited Rev. Cobbah Yalley JHS, her message was from psalm 19:9, that reverence for God cleanses our thoughts, words and actions.
Rahamatu visited Tanokrom JHS and talked on Joshua 1 : 9, which talks about being courageous and strong in all we do, bravely knowing that God is with us.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- 1.We praise God for the wisdom He keeps giving us to impact on these little ones
- We pray more teachers to show interest in helping our club.
- We pray for safety for all our members, students and leaders.
- Tomorrow I am preaching at Tanokrom church in Takoradi, pray for the Lord’s presence and blessings.
