News from Ghana: Jan to March 2026
Extracts from Oliver’s Diary
28th March 2026 –
The primary and the JHS school started their exams, last week and finished this week. Schools vacate next week Thursday God willing. We were unable to do much leadership club this term. We pray that next term will be better and effective. Almost every volunteer is looking for some small salary, this is our problem, what we can help them with is transportation. Sylvester is not stable, at the moment he is in the Northern region for a program, and works part time. Esther, Ramat, Comfort are the ones I can rely on. Tomorrow I am preaching from Psalm 91:14-16. Pray for the Lord’s blessings on the service.
I normally go to the beach to pray for an hour or two. After praying I saw nine children swimming at the very area I nearly got drowned 55 years ago. I was led by the Lord to witness to them. I gave my testimony and shared the gospel to them. Pray that the Lord will use His word to convince them, convict them and convert them. And give their lives to Christ.

5th March 2026
Since I have been in the Ashanti region, precisely in Effiduasi my home town, I have visited five schools. My message to them have been, “GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU”. I chose this topic, because many children feel, God is not real, abandoned or forgotten them. So many children have joined the occult, are doing drugs and other evil practices. There was an incident some few years ago when three teenagers wanted to use their father for money rituals, but were caught.
I used the example of Joseph life to let them know that God has not forgotten them. For God was with Joseph, when his brothers betrayed him, in the pit, when he was sold to the Ishmaelites, when the Ishmaelites sold him to Potiphar, when Potiphar’s wife lied on him, and finally thrown into prison. I made the children know that in every situation the Lord was with Joseph. God was preparing and redirecting him. Joseph did not abandoned God, but waited patiently. God was working behind the scenes. And worked all things together for his good, God’s glory and for the benefit of Joseph’s family(Genesis 50:20)
Please pray for:
- The Lord to send more faithful volunteers.
- That Christ be formed in the children life, those who have come to faith.
- That the Lord empower the church elders and leaders to make disciples.
- That the Lord’s presence be present at my wife’s sister funeral on the 27th of March. And the chief of Effiduasi’s funeral on the 27th of April.
There was a bible quiz in one of the schools. And I presented biscuits and drinks to them. The first had a bigger biscuit and drink than the rest. This was to motivate them to read and study their bibles.

31st January 2026 –
Today we baptized 16 new converts in the sea. Three members later joined, so the total number came to nineteen. They will receive their baptism certificates next week Sunday.

29th January 2026
Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit Ntankoful JHS, my theme was, God Has Not Forgotten You. Talked from Exodus 2:23-25, and ended by letting them know that, God sending Jesus Christ is the greatest prove that He has not forgotten us. Esther went to Tanokrom JHS and talked from Proverbs 13:14, Her theme was, Drinking From The Right Source. She stressed on the fact that, not all voices give life, only Wise, God-centred instructions Does. Sylvester went to Nana Brempong. His theme was from Proverbs 3:5-6, Standing With Higher Authority (GOD) For Destiny Fulfilment. He ended by saying, sticking to God the higher authority is to be planted with the fruit of the Spirit which will guide you into your purpose without the enemy killing or destroying it.
Lamisi has travelled to visit her mother.
God willing, this coming Saturday, we will be baptizing 16 new converts. Pray for the baptism service at the sea side.

14th January 2026 –
The whole of this month January, is football competition among the schools. So we will start our work among the schools in February God willing. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to send more Volunteers into this ministry. The Lord has been adding to His church, and we are planning on the date for baptizing of old members who haven’t been baptized. The new members will be taking through discipleship class, before they are baptized. Coming Sunday I am preaching and teaching from Proverbs 18:10. Please pray for the Lord’s blessing.
